Sonar cloud tenant migration

Hi Team,

We are planning to migrate Azure DevOps tenant to another Azure DevOps tenant. it will impact sonar cloud Also, can you explain what the prerequisites are we need to follow? Can you please suggest to us?

  1. Sonar cloud license.
  2. Sonar cloud all projects existing integration
  3. sonar cloud scan history
  4. sonar cloud user existing permission set-up

  1. If we migrate a new tenant, do we need to get a new license from Sonar Cloud, or can we use the one we already have?

  2. We have already integrated every Sonar cloud project; is there a backup or integration policy in place, or do we need to integrate every project again if we migrate to a new tenant?

  1. Having already reviewed Sonar Cloud’s past, should we move our tenant and will the new tenant’s historical data apply to all of the previous findings, or do we have a fallback strategy in place?

  2. Since we have already granted users permission, previous users will be able to access Sonar Cloud using their previous credentials or, in the event that this is not feasible, any backup option.

What exactly is changing?

  • The name of the Azure DevOps organization
  • The e-mail addresses associated with your users
  • Both, neither?

Hi Colin,

We are migrating all the resources from one Azure Tenant to another tenant. Thus all the user ids will change . Also , since tenant is changing , I believe Azure DevOps organization id(internally) will also change.
