which versions are you using
SonarQube 9.6.1-developer to 9.7.0-enterprise (dockerized)
what are you trying to achieve
Test upgrade process before commit to production instance.
what have you tried so far to achieve this
Switched from sonarqube:9.6.1-developer image to sonarqube-9.7.0-enterprise docker image
Server UI still shows version as 9.7.1-developer and License Manager does not allow me to enter new code

Hi,
You’re testing the upgrade. Does that mean you spun up a second instance of SonarQube? And if so, did you obtain a license for that instance?
Enterprise Edition ($$) comes with staging/testing licenses, but you’ll need to ask for them.

I spun-up a second instance from 9.7.1-enterprise image, using d/b connection to` current production copy. It assumed license from production, which was for developer edition. This has been our practice over the past several years. Should I try using the new Enterprise image with no d/b, so I can get the license issued?

Hi,
Using a copy of production is okay; you want to test with your own data. But yes, you should ask for a test/staging license.
