Hi, we using sonarqube 8.3 and I can’t figure out how to set notifications for all new issues in all projects.
I understand that as admin I can’t subscribe other users but even as the user I can’t subscribe myself to get notifications for new issues at all projects.
Under my account>notifications>overall notifications I only have 4 options:
Background tasks in failure…
Changes in issues assigned to me
new quality gated status
My new issues
There are no “new issues” option under overall notifications.
Should i add myself to every single project under “notification per project”? I have dozens of project and that will take time and effort.
We dropped that notification option several versions ago because we didn’t see it as helpful: either you have a small instance and it’s feasible to subscribe manually to each project or you have a large instance and getting new issues notifications for every project would be spammy and anoying.
Could you share your use case for getting every new issue notification in a large instance?
As you’ve guessed, you’re going to need to subscribe individually.
Alternately, I’d like to suggest that rather than subscribing to new issues notifications, you subscribe instead to “New quality gate status”, which you can do at the global level. I suspect it will be more effective in the long run to know that a project doesn’t meet your release criteria than to know that a developer put a curly brace on the wrong line.
