SonarScanner / SonarQube server compatibility

Hi,

I’m looking to upgrade from SonarQube 8.9 LTS to 9.9 LTS. In the upgrade guide, it mentions ensuring that we also upgrade our SonarScanner versions. We currently have SonarScanner 4.6 and 4.7 in use.

Is SonarScanner 4.8 compatible with SonarQube 8.9 LTS? It might be easier for us to upgrade the SonarScanner first, but I’m not able to find any compatibility matrix in the docs.

Any help would be great. Thank you.

Welcome to the community!

It’s generally good to upgrade to the latest version of the SonarScanner to benefit from the last bug and security fixes.
SonarScanner 4.8 was actually released when SonarQube 8.9 was still the LTS. You should be able to use it without trouble with your old SonarQube version.
