Docker image for SonarQube Community Edition 7.4 announced:

The SonarSource team is pleased to inform you that the official docker image of SonarQube Community Edition 7.4 is now available

Get Started in Two Minutes Guide specifically says:

A Docker image of the Community Edition is available on Docker Hub, see usage and configuration examples there.

This instance is suitable for demonstration or testing purposes only.

Could someone please elaborate on why the Docker instance is suitable only for demonstration/testing? Is that statement still accurate as this post seems to suggest it is being using in live/production scenarios. What are the constraints we should be aware of?

Hi @ianw,

The reason why we’ve added this warning when using the docker image is that for the moment we are not supporting it, in the way that we are not using it internally and no automatic tests have been put in place to ensure that everything is always working.
But for sure you can use it and it will be a good opportunity to give us some feedbacks !

Regards

Hi @julienlancelot It’s coming up on 2 years since …

Is the guidance still the same regarding the Docker image ?

Also, have you had any issues relating to the images in that time?

Hi @ianw ,

no a lot has changed in the last 2 years. we started offering official docker images for all editions of sonarqube with support for them as well within the 8.x release cycle. you can check the docker hub page for them or the github repo or our docs regarding deployment for more information.

Feel free to create a new thread when you encounter any issues with them
