SonarCloud question: we added a new employee to our organization. We have the sync setting so the user should get imported from GitHub into SonarCloud, but I don’t see him.
I reached out to support and they directed me here.
Hi @Taskle and welcome to our Community. Could you please provide your organisation name or key? Also, when the user was added at GitHub? Do you still not see him at SonarCloud?
Sure! The organization is https://sonarcloud.io/organizations/confirm – right now there’s only 1 person (me), but there are more than me as members in GitHub of the synced organization. And yes, the problem persists; I only see myself in SonarCloud.
For privacy, if you need the specific person’s name I’m trying to add, is there a non-public place I could share this information (e.g. via email or somewhere other than this public forum)?
You are not able to invite him or add him manually because he has never logged in to SC. When syncing members from GitHub, we check if the user already exists in the SonarCloud, if he does not we do not create an account for him. The only required action is that the user in question has to log in first to SonarCloud with his GitHub account. It is not required to invite beforehand. You can find more information here: https://sonarcloud.io/documentation/organizations/manage-team/
I see – it would be great if this were mentioned in the help documentation or even better in the user interface for people. Even better than that, as a feature request, most services I use allow people to send an invitation from the interface for situations like this. Would be great if this were possible, e.g. ingesting the full list from GitHub and have a link to invite next to each person.
