🔐 Important Security Update: Removal of the “Anyone” Group

Dear community,

As part of our commitment to keeping your organization’s data secure, we are removing the Anyone group from SonarQube Cloud. The Anyone group was not aligned to the explicit Members group model and did not effectively communicate who was granted access when in use. The removal of the Anyone group is a proactive security measure – we’d like to assure you that we haven’t identified any exploitation of this group by malicious users.

What’s changing:

  • The Anyone group will no longer appear in Group Permissions, Project Permissions, and Permission Templates. This change was applied on June 17, 2025.
  • If you were using the Anyone group to assign permissions to your projects, these permissions will no longer be applied, which may result in a loss of access for some users.
  • To grant access to your projects to all members of your organization, please use the Members group instead.
  • Alternatively, you can manage access using your own custom groups for more granular control.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we further strengthen our security posture. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Thank you for your continued trust in us.

Best,
Identity and Security teams
