How to migrate 6.7.7 LTS version to latest version of Sonar without loosing the data?

  • what are you trying to achieve: Upgrade to 8.9 LTS, without loosing the project data
  • what have you tried so far to achieve this: Want to check if we can upgrade without loosing the history data.

Upgrading from 6.7.7 to 8.9 requires a 2 steps migration path :

  • 6.7.7 to 7.9 and then
  • 7.9 to 8.9 LTS

I would recommend to have a careful review of the release notes

It is worth noting that the 1st step (6.7.7 > 7.9) has some platform prerequisites

The overall upgrade procedure can be found here and it is meant to keep your historical data

Please note It is always a good thing to backup your data before anything else and rehease the full process against a Test/UAT environment

Thank You, is it possible to migrate the data from MySQL to PSQL? Since 7.9 supports only PSQL as per my understanding and Our version 6.* is rumming in MySQL.
