We set-up SSO in existing enterprise set-up and when signing in, we do not see the existing orgs

We have an existing SonarQube organization where users were authenticating using Github. We set-up SSO following the SSO documentation and are able to log-in but after logging in we do not see the existing organization or projects. It’s like it created a new enterprise with no organization. We do not see any projects and it is asking for things like activation codes to set things up.

Hey there!

Have you followed this setup of setting up SSO?

  1. Sign in to SonarQube Cloud with your DOP account and grant your SSO account the Administer Enterprise permission. See Managing your enterprise for more information.

This means signing in with GitHub and adding your SSO user to the Enterprise.

Thanks Colin, we have gone through the SSO setup but when I try to log out of Github and log in with SSO I get an error “Sorry, but we couldn’t verify your authorization to access this page. When we tried, here’s what the provider said: Unable to authenticate user”

Last week we did get in with SSO but it looked like it didn’t have our organization so I think we need some additional help.

Hello @jbenecki and @jkayzerman,

I would look at these two considerations:

  1. Have you configured the groups attribute correctly? You can confirm it while testing the SSO connection in the Single Sign-On page. The JSON output after testing the connection should have a groups attribute.

  2. If you are seeing the groups, have you also configured the group (with the exact same text and case) in your SonarQube Cloud organization? If not you would see this behavior - you are able to login, but not part of any organization - also displaying a page not found error when logging in.

Cheers,
Sarath
