I understand that you are in the process of moving to the new Clean Code Taxonomy in SQ 10, but so far nothing is broken when migrating from 9.9 LTS to 10.6. The old types and severities still remain on the rules/issues, old severity overrides still work on quality profiles, and quality gates that rely on old severities still work as is.
Is this correct so far? And if so, how do I filter rules and issues by the old severity in 10.6? I may be missing something, but I only see a filter for the old type (bug, vulnerability, code smell), not the old severity.
i gave a similar feedback after updating from Sonarqube 9.9 LTA to Sonarqube 10.5.0 a while ago
and unfortunately that hasn’t changed with Sonarqube 10.6.0
Keeping this filter around for now would help to make the transition a bit easier. Conceptual changes combined with UI refinements may be a bit overwhelming for some users, especially those who are on the skeptical side regarding SonarQube
Thank you for this feedback. We do intend to re-enable filtering on the old severities alongside the new severities. This will make things easier in the transition from old to new as you say.
We don’t have a target date for this just yet though.
It’s a shame, because a lot of users are currently in the transition process.
You should have thought about this beforehand. It has happened before with similar decisions that such essential things were simply forgotten.
The “transition” itself has already been criticized several times
see thread
and should then at least be supported as well as possible.
