Safari - Tab icon

An annoying UI glitch…

  • macOS Sequoia 15.3.1
  • Safari Version 18.3 (20620.2.4.11.5)

At the login page, my Safari tab shows the SonarQube icon:

However, when I login with Bitbucket, it uses the Bitbucket icon on the tab for the rest of the session:

In the screenshot above, there is a pinned tab with a Bitbucket page, but the open tab (with the same icon) is SQ. This is particularly confusing if I pin the SQ tab:

Is there a workaround to reset or refresh the icon?

As a side note:

The requested project does not exist, or you have not authenticated with SonarQube Cloud.

The project not existing is very unlikely, and I have a small moment of panic every time I read it. Perhaps a redirect to the login page would be simpler?

Hi,

It’s not clear to me what you mean by this

But since we try to keep it to one topic per thread (otherwise it can get messy, fast) could you create a new thread for this, please?

Thx,
Ann

@ganncamp Fair point.

See Login experience for existing project

Hi!
Are you still seeing this issue?

I’ve tested this scenario with multiple browser and OS combinations and also the Sequoia and Safari combination and wasn’t able to reproduce so far.

It might be an issue specific to the exact versions you are using.

Hi Grégoire,

Thanks for investigating. I have reproduced it just now in Safari Version 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10) on macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 (24E263)

After logging out, I opened my project page at https://sonarcloud.io/project/overview?id=<project_id>. This showed the ‘project does not exist’ message as per the screenshot in my other post…

From that Login link https://sonarcloud.io/login?return_to=%2Fproject%2Foverview%3Fid%3D<project_id> I used the Bitbucket option and ended up with the wrong icon as shown:

Hope this helps.
Dave.

PS: Further info…
When I use the Login button at SonarQube Cloud Online Code Review as a Service Tool the icon is as expected.

Hi,

After more investigation we didn’t manage to reproduce this issue.
Since this is working for most browsers/OS combos and even on Safari/MacOS depending on the route that’s taken it really looks like a local issue or a browser issue.

So we won’t invest more time into trying to solve this issue. Hopefully a future version of Safari will fix it.

Thanks for the effort.
Great product… keep up the good work.
