OS Migrate Steps for centos 7 to Rocky Linux 9.6 - Sonar Dev Edition v2025.2 (105476)

– we are currently in centos 7,

we want to migrate to Rocky Linux 9.7, please share the steps/documentation.

Sonar version:

  • Developer Edition
  • v2025.2 (105476)
  • ACTIVE

Hi,

I suppose you’re talking about upgrading the underlying OS on your SonarQube host? If so, as long as you make sure Java 17 is still available after upgrade, there should be no impact.

how we migrate the data over to new server

Hi,

The data is all in your database. Simply (re)point SonarQube to it.

Now that you’re mentioning a “new” server, I’ll add that you should make sure you copy the configs over from the old server and make sure to re-install any 3rd-party plugins you’re using.
