License didn't reset LOC

Hi Team,

Must-share information (formatted with Markdown):

  • which versions are you using (SonarQube, Scanner, Plugin, and any relevant extension) : Developer Edition Version 7.9.2 (running on top of EKS)
  • what are you trying to achieve - Our existing 1M developer license was set to expire on 19th Jan 2021. After procuring and applying new 1M license, the expiry date got extended till 19th Jan 2022, but the LOC remained the same from last year count (442k) and new scans are adding the count on top of this existing LOC.
  • what have you tried so far to achieve this - Restarted from within app and also the deployment, both of them didn’t help.

Why Sonar didn’t reset our LOC after applying new license? Am I missing any step? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to the community!

First, you’re a little behind: the current LTS is 7.9.5. You’ll pick up some bug fixes if you upgrade.

This is exactly what’s supposed to happen. “Resetting” your LOC would mean wiping out your database and starting everything from scratch.

Thanks Ann. My understanding was little different before. So the license contract is for the LOC and if we need to scan more than 1M, we need to upgrade to higher LOC license.

Hi,

Yes, that’s it exactly. The license covers the total LOC under analysis in your instance. The FAQ on this page (scroll down) goes into a little more detail about what is & isn’t counted.

Thank you for the clarification Ann.
