When using keyboard shortcuts to navigate issues, I’d love to be able to only use them and not have to resort to using the mouse/trackpad. But currently, the “do an issue transition” or “change severity of issue” shortcuts pop up the menu of available options for transition states or severities, but there’s no way to navigate the menu to choose one — so you always have to then move to your mouse/trackpad to choose one.
For me, this matters because I love being able to use keyboard shortcuts to quickly navigate an issue list, but if it’s not possible to choose an option from the menu, then it doesn’t make sense to use keyboard shortcuts at all since you end up still having to context-switch between keyboard and mouse over and over. So the ideal would be to change it so that when a popped-up menu of options is open, the up and down arrow keys change function to navigating that list of options, and then switch back to navigating the list of issues once a selection is made and the menu is hidden.
This clearly isn’t a huge priority, but at least for me, it makes using the keyboard shortcuts much less convenient and useful.
I’m running SonarQube Community 9.7.1 (build 62043) on Mac; it’s happening no matter what the version of Mac (so, we’ve seen it on macOS 12.4, 12.5, 12.6, and 13.1).
It’s happening in all browsers. I just tested on all of the following, and see the same behavior where you can’t navigate the pop-down menus in any of them:
OK — given the change to the Postgres support versions that appears to have come in Sonarqube 9.8, this is more than a simple upgrade for us; we’ll have to upgrade our PG instance from 10.23 to 11 first. So we’ll see when we can get this done.
