Can’t access imported projects

  • ALM used: GitHub
  • CI system used: GitHub Actions
  • Languages of the repository: Miscellaneous

I am having similar problems to those that are described here:

I see all repositories from my GitHub account when I go to
https://sonarcloud.io/projects/create

but some of them have a grayed out checkbox next to them which probably means they already have been imported. But if I click on them I get the error message

“The requested project does not exist, or you have not been granted access.”

The project definitely exists and access is granted to all repositories. I think that the issue is that I previously created an account for the same organization and removed that account later. But somehow the data was not reset properly on your side. Unfortunately I did not find any way to refresh the list or projects or reset any of the projects.

I hope you can help me out because I really want to use the product but like this, I can’t.

Regards,
Mark Kessler

Hi Mark,

To be clear, you

  • created an account for your organization with… a different SonarCloud login?
  • onboarded some projects into the org, using that login
  • deleted the SonarCloud account for that login… without deleting the org?
  • created your current account/login, and the org already existed? And you had access to it?

Can you log back in to SonarCloud with that original login and see if those projects are visible?

Thx,
Ann

Hi. Yes that about sums it up. I first used my private Github account to test Sonarcloud out and then re-created it with the companies account.

When I log in with my original account, I can see the project but I can not directly access it or manipulate it.

The reason that I can access it would be due to my role in the Github organization of my company. I am Github admin with my private account in my company’s account.

Hi,

Thanks for that clarification. I’ve flagged this for more expert eyes.

Hi, any news about this? It has been over a week now.

Hi,

Hopefully they’ll be along soon.

Hi,
Is your customer service based on hope?
Mark

Hi,

No, actually. Our paid support is based on SLAs. This, however, is the community.

Yes, I assumed that. I just wonder that there is no other way to contact the support, they don’t even seem to care if they will get a new customer or not.

I have sent you a private message to see if we can identify a resolution. Once we confirm the details we can see if it is possible to cleanup / reassign the projects.

I have passed @5stages the details for the process of reassigning the organization so that he can clear up the existing projects. This is an internal process which is triggered through a request on the contacts page.

If there is a problem @5stages let me know.

Hallo Shane,
The issue seems to be resolved now. I was able to add the locked project to analyzation. Thank you so much for your support!
Have a great day,
Mark
