We are using SonarQube Enterprise 9.9.0 on premise edition. I wonder how build-in quality profiles get updated and trigger email notifications. Is that an automatic updates happen but how? If there is any new version or new rules added or something like that how that get upgraded on SQ App on premise system? Thanks,
Built-in Quality Profiles are only updated when SonarQube itself is updated (going from 9.9 to 10.0 for example, once it is release).

Recently, I received this email below and was not sure how and who triggered the quality-profile updates. So, as you have mentioned- unless we upgrade the SQ to a new release we should not get the quality profile updates/changes. Right?
I am just understanding the process.
Does the SQ on-premise have any sort of background subscription process to receive the changes automatically when a new SQ release becomes available?
SonarQube will notify administrators in-app when new releases are available.
