Hello everyone,
I am experiencing an issue related to the migration of my personal GitHub account to an organization, which is affecting the management of my projects on SonarCloud.
Context:
- GitHub/SonarCloud Integration: I am using SonarCloud integrated directly with GitHub.
- Migration Completed: My former personal GitHub account was converted into an organization. My new GitHub account (which uses the same email as the previous account) now manages the GitHub organization and is an administrator of it.
- Authentication and Importation: After the migration, SonarCloud re-authenticated me with my new GitHub account. I then re-imported the GitHub organization into SonarCloud. However, SonarCloud generated new project keys for my repositories because the old keys were already in use.
- Issue Encountered: When attempting to import a repository, SonarCloud reports that the project is “already imported,” while it remains linked to the old SonarCloud organization (the one associated with my old GitHub account that was transformed into an organization). As a result, I no longer have administrative rights on these projects.
Additional Testing Performed:
- I verified that the URLs of the projects on SonarCloud have not changed.
- I also tried renaming my GitHub organization in an effort to force a full reimport of the repositories, but they are still marked as “already imported.”
What I am Seeking:
- I would like to be able to reassign or transfer these projects from the old SonarCloud organization to my new organization (or regain administrative rights on these projects).
- I would appreciate exploring any possible alternatives, such as deleting the old projects to enable a clean re-import, while preserving the analysis history if possible.
- I am looking for practical advice on the best approach to follow and would like to know if a manual intervention or support assistance from SonarCloud is feasible to resolve this issue.
Thank you in advance for your help and advice regarding this situation.
Best regards,
Nicolas
