Win Server 2012R2 - Enable SSL SQ url

I have been doing some research and I would like some clarification on how to enable SSL on my SQ server.

Windows Server 2012 R2
Community Edition* Version 8.1 (build 31237)

SQ is running by executing the bat files in this directory. “\bin\windows-x86-64/…”. IIS was not installed to run SQ. What I have been reading that IIS is need. Can someone please confirm this and provide the proper documentation for me to enable SSL for SQ.

To serve SonarQube over SSL, in needs to be Secured Behind a Proxy. For Windows, this typically means IIS. The documentation mentions a guide for seting this up.
