SonarQube Project Creation Date

  • SonarQube Enterprise v2025.5
  • Deployed on Docker
  • what are you trying to achieve: get the project creation date

I’m currently exploring ways to retrieve the project creation date for our SonarQube projects to help monitor the number of newly created projects and track activity over time. I came across an older Sonar Community post discussing this feature, but it appears that it has since been removed.

For monitoring purposes, having access to this data would be very helpful. If there’s any workaround or alternative method to obtain this information, it would be great to know. (When was a Project/Application created and by whom? - Suggest new features - Sonar Community) .

good luck :+1:

//edit: btw, sortable columns in the views would also be crazy hot sh…hhhuper positive stuff \o/

Hello @llyderino ,

Thank you for the clear feedback. We are tracking this.

I am curious about the monitoring use case: Can you share more on how will you use the project creation date / project maturity? Will you take any automated or manual action based on project maturity?

Hi @vivek.reghunath ,

I am looking to track the same as @llyderino so I can see how adoption is growing across the company and hopefully provide it as a metric for server infrastructure needs. I am currently using SonarQube Server 2025.5, from internet searches it looks like creation date used to be part of the components API response, however, looks like it has been removed.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or suggestions on how to get the data through the API.

Best regards,

Mark
