Sonarqube - Overall Code for "master" branch

  • which versions are you using (SonarQube, Scanner, Plugin, and any relevant extension)

    • Data Center Edition | Version 8.9.6 (build 50800)

  • what are you trying to achieve

    • Overall Code for “master” branch has analysis and activities. I would like to know if it is reflection of “master” branch, or if it can reflect “main” branch automatically (without renaming it to main).

Hi,

If you’re using the Data Center Edition, then you have access to our professional Support Engineers (and they have things like SLAs and a responsibility to get your question answered :smiley: ).

Regarding your question whatever branch is analyzed without providing a branch name to analysis will be taken as the main branch.

So, sounds like whatever branch being analyzed is reflection of main branch. (In this case “master” branch, unless it is named “main”).

Hi,

Yes. And keep in mind that you can rename the main branch if you want. In commercial editions there’s a UI (Project Settings → Branches & Pull Requests → [cog menu] → Rename branch) and in Community Edition, you can use the underlying web service directly.
