SonarQube 9.6 released

Hi all,

SonarSource is proud to announce the release of SonarQube 9.6, with additional rich content for several security rules and a faster analysis for Java Pull Requests, and much more. Details in the official announcement.

In addition, there are a few other items to note in the release:

  • We’ve replaced the Java Service Wrapper and this changes how SonarQube is run as a service on Windows and how Java version selection should be made. (SONAR-17136, SONAR-17137).
  • We’ve limited the permission to administer an individual Quality Profile to editing the profile contents and administering its permissions. Among other changes, this removes the ability to set the profile as the default. (SONAR-15798).
  • The C and C++ cache is now independent of the project location so that it keeps being used if an analysis is happening in a different location. (CPP-3730).
  • We’ve improved accessibility on project pages (SONAR-16731, SONAR-16760, SONAR-16782, SONAR-16885, SONAR-16703, SONAR-16683, SONAR-16700) and there are more improvements to come.

You’ll find more details in the upgrade notes and full details in the release notes. Please open new threads for any questions you have about these or other features.

As usual, download is available at sonarqube.org. Docker images are also available on Docker Hub.
