SonarLint underlines too long with Japanese text

  • Programming language you’re coding in: C++ (Visual C++)
  • Is connected mode used:
    • Connected to SonarCloud or SonarQube (and which version): None

And a thorough description of the problem / question:

When SonarLint marks code with Japanese text, underlines get longer than the code text that should be underlined. It seems the number of characters is not the same between SonarLint and the Visual Studio editor.

I hope it will be fixed soon.

We were able to reproduce the issue on our end and created a ticket for it and added it to our backlog. You can subscribe to the ticket if you’d like to get updates about it.
