SonarLint plugin 10.2.1 apparently incompatible with IntelliJ IDEA 2024.1 EAP 2

And a thorough description of the problem / question:

SonarLint is somehow blocking, which is causing a lot of SonarLint background tasks to show up, and the syntax highlighting is not properly working anymore. So I guess I’ll have to disable the plugin for the time being.

Note that we are early in the IntelliJ IDEA EAP process, so there should be time to fix the issue before the final release comes out (in February or March 2024?)

Hi @znerd, thank you for your report.

Are you able to reproduce the issue, and are you sure it is only happening on the EAP versions?

If you could share a thread dump with us when this happens, that would be awesome.

For now, I created this bug ticket. We will try to investigate it when possible, as we want to avoid causing any disruption in the IDE.

I can confirm the issue:

  • is not with the stable version (IntelliJ IDEA 2023.3.3), but
  • it is indeed reproducible with the 2024.1 EAP 2 version.
