I have installed SonarLint in AnypointStudio, which is based on Eclipse. However, I cannot analyze .*xml files. Is there any chance this can be done? I have found SonarXml, Can this be installed as a plugin in SonarLint? If yes, how can I do it?

Welcome to the community!
XML is supported for SonarLint for Eclipse in connected mode. So just make sure your project is analyzed in SonarQube, then follow the docs to connect the project in your IDE to the (same!) project in SonarQube.
