Hello Team,

I’m writing to request guidance on applying our renewed SonarQube Enterprise license.

Our current license is set to expire on October 30, 2025, and we have already procured the new license, which becomes active on the same date. To ensure a seamless transition, could you please clarify the following points?

  • What is the standard procedure for applying the new license key?

  • Is any service downtime required during the update?

  • Can we apply the new license in advance, or must we wait until the expiration date? If applied early, will it queue and activate automatically on October 30th?

We would appreciate your guidance on the recommended best practice for this update.

Licenses have an end date, not a start date, so you should be able to apply your license immediately once it’s received. No downtime is required to update a license. You can find documentation on license administration (and how to apply a license) here in the docs.
