Jira Integration – Error "The Sonar issue is already linked to a Jira work item"

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the Jira – SonarCloud integration.

Context:

  • Initially, I configured the integration with a Jira sandbox instance → everything worked fine, I was able to push Sonar issues into Jira.

  • After switching to our production Jira instance, the integration stopped working.

Observed behavior:
Whenever I try to push an issue, I always get the following error message:

“The Sonar issue is already linked to a Jira work item”

However:

  • No corresponding work item appears in Jira.

  • I tried disconnecting/reconnecting the integration several times.

  • I tested with different projects and different Jira issue types (bug, task, etc.), but the error persists.
