How to cancel the analysis task if it is too long after the scanning task is uploaded?

Hi experts,
Sometimes the project takes a long time to load at the analysis task, and there is no button to cancel the task on the page. At this time, all we can do is close the SQ server, but this will cause the analysis task data to be lost.
Is there anything else that can stop the analysis task besides shutting down the server?

Best,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Would you mind explaining why it’s not an option just to wait?

Uhm… so will cancelling the task…?

And to answer your question, an administrator can cancel the task processing from the Background Tasks page, reached either through Project Settings (for project admins) or Administration → Projects (for global admins).

Hi,Ann
My current version is 8.9. I know that pending tasks can be canceled, but I’m not asking about this situation.
Take my screenshot for example, there is no button to pause this analysis. Some new projects may load for a long time(much longer than I expected).
In this case, I want to cancel the analysis process.
Is there any way?

Best,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

your screenshot shows you’re using only 1 CE worker thread (upper right corner).
You may try to increase the CE worker threads for speed up.
i.e. our Enterprise instance uses 4 CE worker threads which is sufficient most of the time
for 3000 projects.

Hi,

Note that you need to make sure you have enough resources under SonarQube to handle multiple CE workers (which is indeed the solution here since you’re using Enterprise Edition($$)).

Only way to cancel a stuck task is to restart the whole sonarqube service
