How to best track main KPIs on new code over time?

Hello community,

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • SonarLint IntelliJ plugin version: 9.1.0.75538
  • Programming language you’re coding in: Java
  • Is connected mode used: Connected to SonarQube Community Edition at version 9.9.2 (build 77730)

We are using the “Clean Code” (focus on new code) approach as good as possible (looking forward to having the SonarLint IDEA plugin issue (IntelliJ "Focus on new code" checkbox does not stay checked) fixed as soon as possible. This is nice for developers.

But managers do like KPIs, and as we would love to show them that we are heading in the right direction, it would be nice to have a good representation of the historical data of the “new code” metrices.
Maybe I am just too blind or silly to find the best visualization, but a graph that shows this would be very nice. (I couldn’t find any useful plugin in the marketplace either.)

Currently we create a screenshot (!) of the new code overview page before releasing and collect them. There must be something better!

Kind regards, Stefan
