Github integration in SonarQube

Hi,

I am trying to set up Github Enterprise integration and pull request decoration in SonarQube 7.9 we are using the latest version of Github.
I’ve followed SonarQube documentation sending the keys for marking a pull request, on SonarQube instance it appears as done, Passed without any warning or errors, and on GitHub, I don’t see any checks on the PR.

Also, I want to know how the SQ analysis data is being pushed into the SCM is there any port that I can use to give a connection from SQ to Github?

Regards,
Ilyas

Hi,

Welcome to the community!

First, your version is past EOL. You should upgrade to either the latest version or the current LTS at your earliest convenience. Your upgrade path is:

7.9.6 → 8.9.2 → 9.0.1 (last step optional)

You may find the Upgrade Guide and the LTS-to-LTS Upgrade Notes helpful. If you have questions about upgrading, feel free to open a new thread for that here.

Regarding your actual question, are you aware that configuration is required at both the global and project levels? And BTW, once you upgrade to a current version, you’ll find that we’ve enhanced the interface to help you validate your configuration.

Hi @ganncamp We upgraded our Sonar test server to 8.9 LTE and we are doing testing on the test server before updating Sonar Prod. We have some new repositories in Github which we have to analyze as soon as possible. Is it possible to connect and configure pull request decoration from SQ 7.9 to the latest version of Github and we are using Bamboo/Jenkins to compile the project. I am asking this question because I found this link. I am looking for a firewall port to communicate from Github to SQ.

Can you please help me with this?

  • I opened a sonar enterprise support ticket as well but SonarCommunity is a faster service. Just what to know when you are ending SQ 7.9 support?

Hi,

If you’ve opened a support ticket, then I’ll let them help you. This really isn’t my area of expertise. Regarding 7.9 it’s only supported now for assistance to a supported version: 8.9.1 or 9.0.1.
