Deprecation Notice: Swift Analysis Support for Windows

Hello everyone,

Following the successful rebuild of our Swift analyzer in Q4 2025, we are streamlining our platform support to focus on the environments where Swift development is most active.

The Change

Effective July 1, 2026, we will officially remove support for Swift code scanning on Windows-based runners.

Why this is happening

Our latest Swift analyzer, rebuilt for better performance and deeper language coverage, is optimized for iOS and Linux environments. Data from our ecosystem shows that an overwhelming majority of Swift analysis occurs on these platforms, with negligible usage on Windows.

To maintain the highest quality of analysis, we have decided to sunset the Windows-compatible legacy engine rather than port the new architecture to an unused environment.

What this means for you

  • Current Windows Users: You are currently utilizing our legacy Swift analyzer. This engine will continue to function until the cutoff date.
  • After July 1, 2026: Swift scans attempted on Windows runners will no longer execute. The legacy engine will be decommissioned.
  • iOS & Linux Users: No action is required. You will continue to receive full support and updates via the new analyzer.

Next Steps
If you currently run Swift scans on Windows, we recommend migrating your CI/CD pipelines to Linux or macOS runners before July 1st to ensure uninterrupted service.
