Bug in SonarQube 9.3 cfamily documentation

  • SonarQube Version 9.3 (build 51899) developer edition

If you click on the documentation for the sonar cfamily plugin within the newest SonarQube Version 9.3, you only get a placeholder.

Try following link on your self-managed instance: https://Link-to-sonar-instance/documentation/analysis/languages/cfamily/

Hi,

Are you running Community Edition?

That placeholder is swapped out from the embedded analyzer, but that particular analyzer isn’t embedded in Community Edition. In fact, you’ll see the same placeholder for all commercial languages in Community Edition.

Hi Ann,

I’m a bit confused now. We bought the developer edition and before the update of our self-managed instance to SonarQube 9.3, it still was. I can provide you the corresponding information in a private message.

Is it possible to download the “wrong” version? Could it be a solution for now to downgrade to the old version? This is important for us, as we have a lot of C/C++ projects.

Thanks,
Colin

Ok sorry for that. I guess the only bug is, that the built-in link within the update notification on the instance is not the correct one matching the current license anymore.

Hi,

Could you share what you saw and where, please? If it is the wrong link, we’d like to get it corrected.

Hi Ann,

The link I usually use is: Administration → System → “Learn more” on the new version notification → Download. It is the one only available within SonarQube, as soon as a new version is available.

Is it clear enough?

Colin

Hi Colin,

It is! Thanks. I’ve reported this internally.

Hi again,

In fact, it was a copy/paste error in the Marketplace data files, so it was a quick/easy fix. Thanks for helping us find it.
