Azure PR Comment Suggestions

Currently minor issues spam our PRs in Azure so we are disabling this feature

A few suggestions:

  • Add an option to only comment on PR’s if they have a minimum severity
  • Security Hotspots are currently not adding comments in PR’s. This would be very helpful
  • Add an option to only comment on new code in PR’s

To be clear… you… want Security Hotspots to be commented on PRs? Even though you’re saying the current PR decoration is too chatty?

Uhm… That’s already how it works?

I would like it to only comment on Security Hotspots and nothing else.

ATM, I just want comment decoration disabled in Azure Devops completely. The only thing I want is the Quality Gate to pass or fail the PR.

As for comments on new code it is commenting on the whole file where there is new code. It doesn’t not just limit comments to the added code in those files.

We are getting spammed messages making it a useless feature

I completely understand that the volume of minor issue comments is causing you to disable the feature. We recognize how noisy Azure PR comments can be for our users!

Having more customization options for PR comments absolutely makes sense and could significantly improve the experience. While I don’t have anything on the near-term roadmap for this right now, I’ve shared your suggestions with our product team and logged this valuable insight for future consideration.
