in the Documentation for SonarQube, newest release. it says,
'We do not recommend running an antivirus scanner on the machine where a SonarQube analysis runs, it could result in unpredictable behavior."

Does this mean that the antivirus can not be on the same machine at all, or just that the antivirus software can not be running concurrently?

Welcome to the community!

It can be there, but it shouldn’t run during analysis. What we find happens is that the AV will lock files the scanner is trying to analyze, erroring-out the analysis → hours wasted debugging.
