On my local machine I have SonarQube Version 6.7.7 (build 38951), I do not see Go in all profiles.
In prod we have Version 6.7.5 (build 38563), there is an option of Go in all profiles.
I was under the assumption that Go support for Sonarqube started only in 7.x.
Would you guys please be able to verify when did SonarQube started to support Golang. If there is Go support in 6.x why is it not showing on my local.
Hi @maanasa0318
I wasn’t there at that time, but I think we started “supporting” Go back in 2018 - Releases · SonarSource/sonar-go · GitHub
Which would mean before LTS 7.9 (in the 7.x series).
I saw you are running a SonarQube 6.7 version. This is super super super old version and very far from where we are currently in terms of both quality and security analysis;
I would really recommend you to upgrade/start from scratch (as the differences will be really important) your SonarQube server on a supported version, which means either 8.9 LTS (until February and the release of the new 9.9 LTS) or 9.8 version which is currently the latest one.

Hi Carine,
I sincerely appreciate your response. Is there some official documentation available for 7.x versions which mentions that there is GO support in that specific version?
I need it to request our dev ops team to upgrade our Sonar.
Please advise.
hi @maanasa0318
You will find here all the rules that we now have embedded in our LTS 9.9 which has been released today.
I let you tell your infra team to upgrade to SQ 9.9 as your earliest convenience to benefit from these rules.
Thanks,
Carine
Hi Carine,
Thanks, this will still not help me. I am looking for old documentation for SonarQube. Do you guys have a archive where you keep release notes for version 6.x and 7.x?
Thanks,
Maanasa
