Upgrade path from 7.9.6 LTS to newest Version

Hello,

Can somebody tell me which upgrade path I need to use?
I’m currently using 7.9.6 LTS and want to upgrade to 8.8.
Do I need to upgrade to 8.1 first or can I go directly to 8.8?

Edit: The database used is Microsoft SQL Server 2017.
