Unbind organization from Azure DevOps to move to GitHub

Hi

Our organization in SonarCloud is bound to Azure DevOps and we would like to have it unbound so that we can link it to GitHub instead. I understand that this needs to be done by Sonar engineers.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately, it’s currently not possible to unbind an organization and bind it to something else. While long ago we would make some manual database changes to achieve this, we stopped doing this more than a year ago.

The only way to have your organization bound to a different DevOps Platform currently is to create a new organization and re-import your repositories there. Unfortunately, that means you’ll lose the results of previous analyses on these projects.

If you have a yearly subscription for your current organization, you can contact your sales representative to have a new coupon issued for your new organization.
If you have a monthly subscription by credit card, you can simply stop your subscription on the old organization and re-subscribe on the new one.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok understood, thanks Colin

Are we able to delete the organization and then recreate it using the same name / key? Or will we need to choose a new unique identifier for it?

Once the org is deleted, you should be able to create a new org with the same key.

Perfect, thanks
