UI shows wrong title/description after upgrading from 8.9.3-developer to 9.9.1-developer

Make sure to tell us:

  • What version are you upgrading from? 8.9.3-developer, docker version
  • System information (Operating system, Java version, Database provider/version) docker-ce: 5:19.03.7~3-0~ubuntu-bionic, Database version: PostgreSQL-13
  • What’s the issue you’re facing?

Hi,

The deployment type of the SonarQube instance we’re using is docker, and the database is PostgreSQL-13. We followed this upgrade-guide to upgrade the docker instance from version 8.9.3-developer to 9.9.1-developer. Also we’ve done the PostgreSQL clean-up

After the upgrade, the UI can’t correctly show the title/descriptions. This is quite annoying as some key descriptions might be missing from the webpage, and looks like a UI issue.

The screenshots and logs are put as attachments. Could you please have a look and let us know what should be done to deal with this? Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to the community and congrats on your upgrade!

This is caused by a plugin, although I forget which one. Please try uninstalling your plugins and restarting.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, and it works! You are brilliant!

In my case, there’s only one plugin which is “sonar-cnes-report-4.1.3.jar” under “”$SONARQUBE_HOME"/extensions/plugins". After it’s removed and the server reboot, everything is fine now.

Best regards,
Michael
