Support newest Java version as Runtime for SonarQube Server

Hi,

currently, according to the documentation, the SonarQube server should only be run using Java 11.

Are there any plans to loosen that requirement anytime soon, e.g. move to or “allow” Java 17?

I want to write a plugin which uses a library that depends on Java 17, but I can’t do that, because the server side of the analyzer would prevent SonarQube using Java 11 from starting.

Hi,

The LTS is around the corner (although I don’t have a date for you yet). I assume it will support Java 17.
