We are aware of a license issue with SonarQube Server 2025.4, which was initially announced today. If you haven’t started installing SonarQube Server 2025.4, please don’t start yet, and continue to use previous versions. A new version will be posted as soon as it is available.
If you have tried to upgrade, some of you may have been notified that your license key was invalid and / or that your license was corrupted. We are actively investigating the issue and will provide additional guidance as soon as possible; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for you and your organization.
If you have already begun the upgrade to 2025.4 and are seeing the error, reversion guidance can be found here and below:
- Stop SonarQube Server - Shut down your SonarQube Server to prevent additional changes while you work on restoring.
- Restore your database backup - Restore the database from the backup you made before starting the update.
- Switch back to the previous SonarQube Server version - Replace the updated SonarQube Server application files with the previous version’s files (or update the tag if using Docker).
- Restart SonarQube Server - Once your backup and software have been restored, start your SonarQube Server.
Please create new threads for additional questions.
Thank you for your understanding.
