Dear IntelliJ users,
SonarQube for IDE: IntelliJ 11.3 is now available!
I’m thrilled to announce that our latest release is now live! This update is packed with new capabilities focused on three key themes: strengthening your code security, boosting analysis performance, and expanding our support for the latest languages and frameworks.
Here’s a look at what’s new:
Major Security Upgrades
Security remains our top priority, and this release brings two major enhancements:
- Dependency Risk Detection (SonarQube Cloud): This is a huge step forward! SonarQube Cloud can now identify and track security risks and vulnerabilities found in your project’s third-party dependencies. This gives you a complete picture of your project’s security posture, not just in your own code, but in the libraries you rely on.
- Improved Secrets Detection: We’ve significantly enhanced our detection engine to find even more hard-coded secrets (API keys, passwords, tokens) before they can be leaked into your codebase.
Performance & Diagnostics
We know that analysis speed is critical to your workflow.
- Parallel Execution for Python: Python analyses just got a major speed boost! We are now executing Python rules in parallel, which will dramatically slash your analysis times and get you feedback faster.
- Git Optimizations: We’ve further improved analysis performance by optimizing our use of Git data and reducing file-system reads, making scans even more efficient.
- New Flight Recorder Mode: We’ve introduced a new “Flight Recorder” mode to help you detect and report issues on demand. This makes troubleshooting much easier—if you encounter a problem, simply activate the mode and share the generated session ID with our support team. This gives us the diagnostics we need, faster.
- Analysis Speed Improvement: We also fixed a bottleneck that improves analysis speed when scanning projects with multiple files.
Language & Framework Updates
We’re constantly expanding our language coverage to support your stack:
- Go 1.25 Support: We are now fully compatible with the latest Go 1.25 release.
- New PyTorch Rules: Calling all AI/ML developers! We’ve added 4 new rules specifically for PyTorch to help you write more secure and reliable models.
- New MISRA C++ Rules: For our developers in automotive and safety-critical industries, we’ve expanded our coverage with 5 new MISRA C++ rules to help you achieve compliance.
Platform & Requirement Updates
IMPORTANT: To keep our platform secure and modern, we have dropped support for Node.js 18.
- The new minimum required version is now Node.js 20.12. Please ensure your environments are updated to avoid any disruptions.
Key Fixes
This release also includes important fixes for stability and a smoother user experience, including resolving an issue related to credentials migration.
As always, you can check out the full, detailed release notes for all the changes.
