Hello,

will cloud version support possibility to change severity of rule ?

We want to be able to pass through the Quality Gate specific rules.
If there is another way to do this than to change the severity to Info and configure the Quality Gate to not fail if there is a Iwith the Issue fo severity, please advise us.

Hi @oliver-sintaj_comap ,

There isn’t currently a way to have a rule live in a quality profile, but exclude it from quality gate calculations.

We are looking at custom rule severity for SonarQube Cloud, but don’t have a plan for this just yet.

Hi John,

any update on this need to change the rule severity from the SonarQube Cloud UI? This is critical for our C++ dev team to adopt the sonar scanning on our C++ code.

Welcome to the community and thank you for your feedback on this!

We are working on getting this into the roadmap at the moment. We don’t have a firm date just yet though.

Can I check, do your team need the ability to change severity at the rule and issue level?

Do you ever see the need to change the type (e.g. vulnerability → bug) or add a software quality (e.g. add a maintainability severity where there isn’t one currently)?

We have added a card on our public roadmap as a way for people to:

  • Vote on this feature (and add any specific requirements please)
  • Get notified of any updates for this feature on its way to (hopefully) being released
