Hi all,
I’m posting the roundup for @Colin today since he’s “making the bridge” from yesterday’s Jeûne Genevois holiday. I learned this week that the “jeûne” there means “fast” as in “not eating”, so it’s a bit ironic that the first thing I see when I search on the term is a pair of plum tart pictures.
But whether we’re fasting or feasting, as always, we want to take a moment to recognize everyone who sparked interesting discussions and gave us valuable feedback to drive continuous improvement.
SonarQube Cloud:
-
After @alexypuli encountered out-of-memory failures while using Automatic Analysis, we discovered that analysis wasn’t using the memory allocation we thought it was, so we bumped it back up. Thanks for the report!
-
A UI bug displayed “maximum of -1 users” for @sdwyer20’s Enterprise plan. We spotted this across our own orgs and deployed a fix. Thanks for the report!
SonarQube Server & Community Build:
-
Docker PostgreSQL configuration needed some love, as @smileBeda pointed out. The team created SONAR-25775 to update the examples and, importantly, to keep compatibility with PostgreSQL 18. Excellent feedback!
-
A couple months ago we had a problem on SonarQube Cloud with null bytes in SCM blame data, but we’d never seen the same problem on the on-prem side. @sk2312 fixed that for us.
Their report of a server-side error storing the analysis report let us know we need to address it everywhere. SONAR-25800
SonarQube for IDE:
- Confusion arose when @derek-wi couldn’t connect SonarQube for Visual Studio to his sonarqube.us account since the extension defaults to sonarcloud.io. Configuration for this exists in the extension options, but the team will update the docs to make this clearer for sonarqube.us users. Thanks!
Rules & Languages Improvements:
- terraform:S6383 missed the memo about Azure Key Vault’s parameter name changes, as @Stephane_Renou discovered. The rule didn’t recognize rbac_authorization_enabled as the new replacement for the deprecated enable_rbac_authorization. SONARIAC-2243 was created to update the detection logic. Thanks for keeping us current!
Thank you again to everyone mentioned—and to those we may have missed—for your ongoing contributions in making this community stronger and helping us improve Sonar products.
If you’d like to give a shout-out to someone, whether a community member or a SonarSourcer who helped you, please do so below. And if there’s someone you think we should acknowledge next week, let us know!
