Hi all,
I’m back from a lovely vacation (a week of rain and the last two ‘Fitz and the Fool’ books. ) Meanwhile, Colin was jetting around Europe again, this time to our Frankfurt World Tour stop. World Tour will move on, first to New York on June 11, and then Singapore and Sydney in July followed by Seattle, and Chicago later in the year. If you’re in one of these regions, we’d love to see you!
And as always, we want to take a moment to recognize everyone who sparked interesting discussions and gave us valuable feedback to drive continuous improvement.
SonarQube Cloud:
- We rolled back Wednesday’s deployment of an upgraded JavaScript security analyzer after several users let us know it was breaking their analyses. Thanks @BDRichardson, @mdridder, @chungvtran, @Nicholas_Namacha1, @purecircular, and @s1-robert-k!
SonarQube for IDE:
- @cb6d struggled to get going with C / C++ analysis in SonarQube for VSCode because, as @LyndenAtAACB pointed out, the offline installation instructions gave a bad path.
Corrected, thanks!
SonarQube Server & Sonarqube Community Build:
-
@gdprx pointed out that we haven’t created an official “release” of the GitHub Quality Gate action in a while. Sorry about that. It’s fixed.
-
@Mikaciu wondered about some seemingly missing API removal notices for 2025.3. They were in there, but we’ve adjusted the formatting to make them easier to find. Thanks!
Rule & Language Improvements:
-
@Gosse_Mol joined the community to let us know the docs recommend a dead .NET coverage tool and point us to the replacement. Thanks!
-
Analysis of some languages requires Node.js, and the scanner is supposed to deploy what it needs to run that analysis. But when the deployment fails… the scanner falls on its face. Thanks @manuel_marquez! JS-755
-
javascript:S6418
misses API keys in ternaries and object assignments. Thanks @Cristianrage! JS-754
-
@pauljnixon reported that
cpp:S867
misses it when numeric or enum values are used as conditions. Well spotted! CPP-6528
-
We updated the PHP analyzer’s README after @floriankraemer noted that it doesn’t reflect the current state of our PHP version support.
Scanners:
- The scanner crashes if you give it a relative path when it’s expecting an absolute one. Thanks @logan.gauthier! SONAR-25263
Thank you again to everyone mentioned—and to those we may have missed—for your ongoing contributions in making this community stronger and helping us improve Sonar products.
If you’d like to give a shout-out to someone, whether a community member or a SonarSourcer who helped you, please do so below. And if there’s someone you think we should acknowledge next week, let us know!
