Hi all,
It’s been a quiet week here in the Community. Fingers crossed that no news is good news.
And now, like every week, we’d like to take a moment to recognize you, the users, who help improve the ecosystem for everyone by sparking valuable discussions and providing feedback to drive continuous improvement in our products.
SonarQube for IDE:
- We try to continuously improve, but @Jesse_Y noticed a movement in the other direction when their project stopped being analyzed by SonarQube for Visual Studio. That’s because we started ignoring files outside the project directory. We’ve already stopped.
SonarQube Server / SonarQube Community Build:
-
Oracle user @Tadas_Butkevicius finds that after upgrading to 2026.1, his server no longer processes analysis reports. It’ll be fixed in the first patch. SONAR-27094
-
@Whiskeyjack and @mrcoelho reported problems starting 26.1 with an Elasticsearch error. It turns out that not all versions of OpenJDK contain all the classes the upgraded Elasticsearch now needs to run. Manually adding the missing classes worked, so we’re going to update the docs to help other users. Thanks!
-
@takanuva15 noted that the Community Build DB install docs don’t give any guidance on DB sizing. We’ve flagged this for the Docs team.
-
@SebG noticed that the docs link in the in-app upgrade notice points to an old version of the docs. Doh! SONAR-25664 is on the list for the first LTA patch.
Scanners:
- @pschwarzer-tt let us know that the newest SonarScanner for Gradle is creating empty
sonar-resolverfolders. We’re on it. SCANGRADLE-360
Rules & Languages Improvements:
-
@carrxion uses empty Kubernetes Kustomization files as placeholders. Unfortunately that didn’t play well with a recent change to our analyzer. So we fixed it. Thanks!
-
typescript:S7718should ignore unused variables that start with_, according to @reitzmichnicht. We agree, and we’re working on it now. -
It turns out our Kotlin analyzer won’t run in a path with a space. Sorry @Devilyoung2504. We’re on it.
-
@crystalfp pointed out that our
eslint-plugin-sonarjswas a little behind the times. Thanks for the report! We’ve updated it. -
java:S1258is supposed to exclude@jakarta.inject.Injectfields, but @fassen let us know that’s not what’s happening. The fix will be part of the next releases.
Thanks again to everyone mentioned here - and to anyone we may have missed - for your ongoing contributions in making this community stronger and helping us improve Sonar products.
If you’d like to give a shout-out to someone, whether a community member or a SonarSourcer who helped you, please do so below. And if there’s someone you think we should acknowledge next week, let us know!
