Significant reduction of false positives for C, C++ and Objective-C path sensitive rules

Hello dear C, C++ and Objective-C users

We are very happy to bring you some significant improvements on the front of path-sensitive rules (lists for C, C++, Objective-C).
We significantly lowered the false-positive rate in the issues we raise for these rules.
We achieved that by both:

  • Improving the modeling in our engine
  • Taking asserts as hints, even in Release builds.

This also comes with a series of bug fixes and other improvements. The entire list is available here.

These will be available with SonarQube 9.7 and it is already available on SonarCloud .
