I’ve been using SonarQube/Cloud for over a decade both in my open source projects and professionally and have been an advocate to establish it in my current day job.
I’m hugely disappointed by your decision to make MISRA 2023 rules “premium only”, thereby forcing users to upgrade to an Enterprise subscription.
In my opinion, the Feature I have been paying for has been “MISRA Compliance Check with Rules”. Updating or extending these rules to cover the latest version of the standard is not adding a new feature, it’s an update. That’s the reason I’m paying for a subscription, not a specific version.
I’m sure there many good reasons for customers to upgrade to Enterprise edition, so I don’t see why it is necessary to tout the latest MISRA rule set as a premium feature.
For my small team, this means whopping price jump of 33x, which brings us in the neighbourhood of 1100€ per month. Needless to say, I’m having a hard time justifying this to my superiors.
