QualityProfile backup with activation / deactivation

Hi,
I am trying to backup a quality profile from Sonarqube 7.9 to 8.2. What I realized is, that the activation of rules is not exported. So all rules in the other Sonarqube instance are deactivated.
Is there any way that I can also export the activation / deactivation of rules within the profile?

Hi Boris,

Welcome to the community!

Actually, that’s exactly what the export of a profile is: the list of rules active in the profile.

Can I ask why you’re trying this backup?

thanks for your reply.
Actually I checked today, that the export contains only the activated rules as you wrote, but when I import them there are around 500 rules in the imported profile, which are all deactivated.

I am trying to do this export / import because one of our customer has its own Sonarqube with their own Quality profile, that we want to use in our Sonarqube instance.

This part doesn’t make sense to me:

If they’re in the profile, they’re not deactivated…?

Hi Ann,
I think, I figured out the problem.
Customer Sonarqube is 7.9
When I import the profile into 8.2 I get the message imported 1 active rule and only one rule is active. When I import the profile into 7.9.3 it works perfectly and as expected the 306 rules from the exported profile are active.
To use 8.2, would it be a way to import the profile into 7.9.3 and afterwards do an update to 8.2?
