Project dump was generated with SonarQube 9.9.0.65466 but 10.5.1.90531 is required

I am building a new setup where I transfer projects from the Azure App Service, to the new Windows Server 2022 SonarQube setup.

  1. Does this mean that I can’t transfer the projects to the newer version?
  2. If you do the upgrade to a newer LTS version, how do you do the dumps then?

Hey there.

As noted in the docs:

Both source and target instances must have:

  • The exact same SonarQube version.

It sounds like you’d be better off just transferring the existing database to the azure app service environment, and then performing the upgrade.

Thanks @Colin. Well, the reason why we move is that the App Service setup is so effed up by previous colleague (nothing personal), that it’s better to move to a new setup and VM setup seems smooth as hell, when it comes to upgrades in my opinion. Plus, we are considering SonarCloud enterprise when/if it comes out.

Alright, I think I can setup the old version on the VM, and then migrate the projects, might be that I can create a separate slq server then, to do it proper way this time.

when, I promise
