PostgreSQL compatibility for SonarQube upgrade from 9.9.3 to 25.4

Hi everyone

I’m currently using SonarQube Community Edition 9.9.3 with PostgreSQL 12.7. I read that in order to upgrade to the latest version, I first need to upgrade to version 24.12 and then to 25.4.

However, I couldn’t find clear information about which PostgreSQL versions are compatible with SonarQube 24.12 and 25.4.

Can someone clarify if I will need to upgrade the PostgreSQL database once or twice during this process?

Update in PostgreSQL support

PostgreSQL version 11 is no longer supported. Supported versions are now from 13 to 17.

Not sure what happened to Postgres 12 there (I’ll ping our docs folks)

You should upgrade to Postgres 13+ while upgrading from 24.12 to 25.7 (not 25.4, which is EOL).
