Need help in upgrading from 9.9.6 to 2025.1 lta version--2025.4 lta

Hi Team,

We are planning to upgrade SonarQube from version 9.9.6 to versions 2025.1 and later 2025.4. Before the upgrade, we are also migrating our PostgreSQL database from version 11 to version 15, since this is required for SonarQube 2025.1 and 2025.4.

We have attempted the upgrade twice and both attempts failed, so we need detailed guidance on the correct prerequisites and step‑by‑step process. We also want to reconfirm whether SonarQube 9.9.6 is an LTA version, and whether upgrading first to 2025.1 LTA and then to 2025.4 is the correct approach.

Please provide the required prerequisites and the recommended upgrade steps.

2025.4 is not the current LTA. That’s 2026.1, and that’s where you should be aiming. Your update path is:

9.9.6 → 2025.1.4 → 2026.1

Note that while 2025.4 is an LTA, it’s not required in the migration path.
